Main Contents of Routine Maintenance of Wind Power Systems
Routine maintenance of wind power systems begins with regular visual inspections and operational monitoring. Every week or bi-weekly, the wind turbines should be carefully inspected from a safe distance using binoculars to check for cracks, damage, or icing on the blades; peeling paint and rust on the tower surface; and loosening of all connecting bolts. Simultaneously, daily monitoring of power generation data should be conducted via the controller or monitoring system to ensure it is normal, and the turbine's operating sound should be listened to for smoothness, evenness, and any abnormal friction or vibration noises. These observations help to promptly identify external mechanical problems.
Secondly, basic inspections and maintenance of the electrical and control systems are required. Regularly inspect electrical equipment such as control cabinets and inverters, checking for tight wiring terminals, signs of overheating, and proper functioning of cooling fans. Keep the equipment clean inside and out to prevent dust and moisture accumulation. For battery systems (if applicable), check for corrosion on the terminals, ensure ventilation, and perform necessary equalization charging according to type. This part of the work requires caution and is best performed by knowledgeable personnel.
Finally, regular functional testing and recording are essential. Every so often (e.g., quarterly), the safety protection functions of the wind turbine should be tested, such as manually testing the braking system to ensure it responds correctly. Simultaneously, maintenance dates, problems encountered, and corrective actions should be recorded to create a maintenance log. These records not only ensure timely maintenance but also help analyze long-term performance trends, providing a basis for preventative maintenance and thus guaranteeing the continuous and reliable operation of the system.
